Just like any nation in existance, we have customs, traditions and artwork that is strictly our own. The great part about Japexican heritage is that there is none yet. We get to make up our history as we go along.
What we need is for people to become naturalized citizens of this great nation and submit artwork that portrays a certain aspect of our culture. Whether it be a song announcing national pride, a sketch of any of the thousands of species of wildlife native to our island group, a photo of architecture from an era deep in our past, or a design for a Japexican made hair care product. We need to show tourists (and prospective citizens) who we are!
To become a Japexican citizen, simply send us a note with "Immigrate" somewhere in the title. There are absolutely no restrictions as to who can become a citizen. There is no quota you have to meet for submitting artwork...You really don't have to submit any if you don't want. But it would be nice if you took part in the cultural discussions for the pieces submitted...But again, its not manditory.
There are a few things you need to take into consideration before you submit works of art.
Please include a description of how this fits into our culture and/or traditions so it can go in the artist's comments section for others to read. Please make it long and descriptive enough so that people will understand. One sentence descriptions more often than not, will not be enough.
We are in current, modern day times. This is not a period piece. If it doesn't exist today (or at one time in the past), please do not submit it...That means no flying cars and/or robot butlers (yet). Mystical creatures I would like to keep to a minimum just because they are hard to keep track of.
I think the most imporant thing to remember when submitting is that this is not on Earth. Our citizens are human, but thats as far as it goes. I would like to keep the Garden of Earthly Delights out of Japexico. Everything should be completely made up.
Happy culture building!
